From the Archives: Texas Teacher Under Fire for Teaching Kids Taxes

A weeklong "study hall" 2015 exercise in a Texas elementary school shocked parents nationwide when an elementary teacher's class was given two options during this hour where there would be no lecture: do homework and study for the big test or fun activities. Those who did homework were each awarded a bag of 15 pizza rolls for each class that they did homework. Those who played on electronics, doodled, any other sort of "fun activity" were not rewarded.

At the end of the week, the teacher used an ethnic slur, offending many minorities in the group after awarding the hardworking students with their reward. Here was her speech (this is uncensored so if the word bothers you, please note that no offense is intended):

"One day, you're going to turn 18 and you will be old enough to have a job [future uses of the word will be censored just in case]. Once you have a j*b, people who only want to be in our country to play around on their laptops and phones will be allowed to have some of your pizza rolls. This is normally 10% of your earnings. I want each of you who were awarded a box of pizza rolls to take one roll and give it to your classmate who was doing 'fun activities'."

The classmates all groaned, for they did homework and didn't get to do fun things and even though they didn't want to do the homework nor hand over their share, they still did so out of the goodness of their hearts because they didn't want their friends showing pictures of pugs to starve.

"When you have a j*b, you will be required to give one of your pizza rolls from each bag away to someone who is simply unwilling to do homework. This does not count towards students who are simply falling behind and might need an extra pizza roll as an incentive to prevent any distractions."

The class continued to groan.

"And now you know why we have cl*sed borders. Class dismissed."

While we can't press charges against this teacher, it's probably best she sleep outside to learn some empathy. Those poor dears just wanted to look at puppy pictures.
